Dental braces in Dubai – The Procedure
The application of braces is typically guided by a dentist, who evaluates the condition of your teeth.
Treatment for misaligned teeth usually involves three main phases:
- Initial Placement: Brackets are attached to the teeth along with an archwire, and sometimes ring-like bands are used to secure the braces in place.
- Adjustments: The braces are periodically adjusted to gradually achieve the desired alignment. Some discomfort or soreness may occur for a few days after each adjustment.
- Retainer Use: After the braces are removed, a retainer is worn to keep the teeth stable in their new position.
Caring for Braces
Since braces make it easier for food particles to get trapped, elevating the risk of tooth decay, it’s important to limit sugary drinks and starchy foods that can erode tooth enamel.
You’ll need to visit your orthodontist for adjustments every 8 to 10 weeks. During these visits, our orthodontist will ensure that your oral health is on track and that you’re properly caring for your braces. They may also replace O-rings as needed.
